Corey is the Co-Owner of Seacoast Hoops Lab, overseeing the development of Seacoast Hoops Lab along with offering private trainings a few hours per week for high level athletes. Corey has vast experience at the highest levels of basketball including NCAA Division 1 and playing professional basketball in top European Leagues. It all started here in New Hampshire for Corey. While New Hampshire public school basketball, like most things in life, has had ebbs and flows, Corey played high school basketball at Merrimack High School during a time that arguably had the greatest pool of basketball talent ever seen in NH since the Bonner era.
It's not unusual for top players from NH to go on to play at the Division 3 level, an accomplishment in itself as only about 7% of HS athletes go on to play collegiately at all. However, in a 2 year span from 2004-2005, the NH public school system had over 10+ players talented enough to receive full-scholarship offers at the Division 1 or Division 2 level. Less than 1% of high school players typically go on to make an NCAA D1 team and .4% receive scholarships.
Corey Hassan was part of a powerhouse Merrimack High School team that won back to back Division 1 state championships, including in 2004 while in the same league as arguably one of the greatest high school teams in NH history, Trinity High School which at the time was top 20 in the country. While every night was a battle with enormous talent on the floor, Corey was named 1st team all-state as both a Junior & Senior. Ultimately, after strong performances at the NH public school level and at national tournaments during AAU, he landed over 20+ NCAA Division 1 scholarships as well as being ranked as a top 200 player nationally. Corey went on to have an extremely successful career known most for his scoring ability and deadly 3-point shooting. He has gone on to be a nationally recognized trainer, with over 10k followers on instagram where he continually posts drills and tips for his following.
Corey has worked with hundreds of athletes ranging from elementary youth athletes to professionals basketball players. Athletes Corey has worked with have gone on to play at Stanford (Pac 12, NCAA D1), Marquette (Big East, NCAA D1), UNC Greensboro (Southern Conference, NCAA D1), Charlotte (Conference USA, NCAA D1), Binghamton (America East, NCAA D1), Quinnipiac (MAAC, NCAA D1), St. Anselm (NE10, NCAA D1) and SNHU (NE10, NCAA D1) amongst others.
Corey also spent some time as an Assistant Coach at D2 powerhouse, St. Anselm as well as having started an AAU program C4, before stepping away to focus 100% on skill development. Corey has also consulted and run clinics for numerous travel programs and recreation departments throughout NH and MA. He was also recruited as an outsourced skill development lead for a large MA based AAU program.
It is his belief that ANYONE can play at the highest level with hard work & determination. He's on a mission to help as many athletes as possible achieve their basketball dreams. He hopes in the process to help mold the next generation into amazing, hard working, disciplined athletes that will make the world a better place than it was before they entered it.
